Booking terms
These terms apply when you book an appointment with Ubuntu Barbershop through ubuntuisforever.be. Booking means you accept them. They are written for customers, in plain words, and nothing in them takes away rights Belgian consumer law gives you.
1. Who you are dealing with
Ubuntu Barbershop, Stationsstraat 216, 9880 Aalter, Belgium. Email [email protected], phone 0468 51 29 12.
2. How booking works
An online booking reserves a time slot for one service with one barber. It is confirmed when you see the confirmation screen with a booking code and receive the confirmation email.
The service itself is delivered and paid for at the shop. The booking is a reservation, not a prepayment.
You can book as a guest with your name, phone number and email, or with an account. Give correct details: the confirmation, reminder and any change go to them.
One person may hold a limited number of open bookings at a time. The limit is set by the shop and shown when you reach it.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are in euros and include VAT. The price shown when you book is the price for that service on that day.
Extra work you ask for at the chair is priced at the shop's list. Services not offered online are priced at the shop.
Payment is at the shop, by the means available there. We do not take payments online at the moment. If that changes, the payment terms will be shown before you pay.
4. Cancelling and moving
You can cancel or move a booking yourself, from the link in your confirmation email or from your account, until the cutoff the shop has set. The cutoff is shown under the booking form and in your account. Today it lets you cancel until the appointment starts.
After the cutoff, send a WhatsApp or call. We will do what we can.
Because a haircut is a service at an agreed time, the statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not give you more than this cancellation right; the cancellation right above is what applies and it is free.
The shop may have to cancel or move an appointment, for example because of illness or a closed shop. We tell you as soon as we know, by email or phone, and you can pick a new time first. Beyond rebooking, the shop owes nothing for a cancellation on its side, except where the law says otherwise.
5. Lateness and no-shows
Please arrive on time. Arriving late shortens your appointment, and after ten minutes the chair may go to the next customer.
Not turning up without cancelling is a no-show. The shop keeps a count. After repeated no-shows the owner may refuse further online bookings; you can still call. That decision is made by a person and you can ask about it.
6. Children
A booking for a child is made by a parent or guardian, in their own name, who comes along to the appointment.
7. Accounts and conduct
An account is personal. Keep your sign-in method safe and tell us if you think someone else is using it. You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
The shop may refuse service or close an account for abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour towards staff or other customers.
8. Liability
The shop is liable under Belgian law for the services it performs. Tell us straight away if something is wrong with a cut, so we can put it right.
The shop is not liable for the booking website being temporarily unavailable, for emails that a provider does not deliver, or for indirect loss such as missed connections or lost time, except in case of intent or gross negligence. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury.
9. Content of the site
Text, photos and the Ubuntu marks on the site belong to the shop or its licensors. You may not copy them for commercial use without asking.
10. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
11. Complaints and disputes
Not happy? Tell us first at [email protected] or on WhatsApp, and we try to sort it out within 14 days.
If we cannot, you can turn to the Consumer Mediation Service (Consumentenombudsdienst), North Gate II, Koning Albert II-laan 8 bus 1, 1000 Brussels, www.consumentenombudsdienst.be, or to the European online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
Belgian law applies. Disputes go to the competent courts of the judicial district of East Flanders, division Ghent, unless mandatory consumer rules point to another court.
12. Changes and final words
This is version 2026-09-16. The version in force when you book applies to that booking. New versions are posted here with a new date.
If one clause turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
